Snowdonia in Wales is home to the highest mountain in England and Wales, Mount Snowdon. It is located in the Snowdonia National Park and has an altitude of 3,560 ft (or 1,085 metres) above sea level. Due to its height, Mount Snowdon boasts some of the best views in England and is extremely popular with hill walkers and climbers. It is also one of the three mountains which are climbed during the National Three Peaks Challenge.

For most visitors, the Snowdonia National Park represents the perfect holiday destination if you are looking to experience the beautiful Welsh countryside. In and around the National Park, you will find an almost endless supply of small villages, scenic walks, beautiful spots for picnicking, advantageous places to view the local wildlife and birds which can be found throughout the year, dedicated mountain bike trails for all abilities, bridleways for horse and pony trekking, and rivers and lakes to enjoy water sports like fishing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking.

There are many reasons to visit Snowdonia’s picturesque landscape, whether it’s for a weekend break or a longer holiday while you stay in one of the local Snowdonia holiday cottages and opt for one of the typical North Wales self catering cottages which are scattered across the local countryside.
